Cullen is gearing up for a gastronomic spectacle as the highly anticipated Cullen Skink World Championships 2024 are set to take place. This renowned event, scheduled for Sunday 17th March, will bring together culinary enthusiasts, professional chefs, amateur chefs, and seafood aficionados to celebrate the iconic Scottish dish, Cullen Skink.
The 2024 competition is held in memory of Graham Bell, Discover Cullen Treasurer and Secretary, who sadly passed away on 22nd December 2023. Graham was well known in Cullen and played an integral role in Discover Cullen from managing the tourist office and organising the Cullen Skink World Championships.

Competition Itinerary
Cullen Skink Traditional
10-30 All competitors must report to the organisers by this time.
11-00 to 11-45 During this time each competitor will prepare their soup dish.
11-45 Each competitor must serve up three bowls of the completed soup dish.
11-45 to 12-45 Judging will take place.
Please note that the winner will not be announced until after the second competition is completed.
Cullen Skink with a Twist
13-30 All competitors must report to the organisers by this time.
14-00 to 14-45 During this time each competitor will prepare their soup dish.
14-45 Each competitor must serve up three bowls of the completed soup dish.
14-45 to 15-30 Judging will take place.
Presentations & Photography Opportunity
The announcement of the winners and the presentation of the Trophies will take place from
15-30 by Andrew Simpson, Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire.
