Established in the mid-1990s, Discover Cullen is a volunteer led, community tourism organisation with the objectives of:

  • To provide a suitable office where during the summer months tourists and visitors can access relevant tourist information.
  • Find Voluntary members of the community willing to support the committee by staffing a shift in the tourist office.
  • Open the office between Easter and September.
  • Ensure that all information and support documentation is always kept current, concise and fully detailed.
  • Do all we can to ensure that tourists and visitors enjoy their stay in Cullen.
  • Consider all suggestions to help the ongoing development of the tourist office.
  • Provide business support to tourism, retail and hospitality businesses and liaise with relevant 3rd party organisations including VisitMoraySpeyside
  • Organise and host the annual Cullen Skink World Championships
  • Promote Cullen online and in print through the ‘Discover Cullen’ brand.

Discover Cullen Activities

  1. Cullen Tourist Office

Located in The Square in Cullen Town Centre, Cullen Tourist Office is a seasonal information centre manned by volunteers open daily from Easter to the end of September. The Tourist Office is manned by a volunteers who give up some of their time to ensure that visitors to the area are well-informed of events, facilities and things to do.  If you wish to contact the Tourist Information Office, please phone or email us (details below).

We are always looking to recruit new volunteers. Full training is given.

Discover Cullen uses a mix of print and digital marketing tools to promote Cullen.

3. Cullen Skink World Championships

The Cullen Skink World Championships take place in March each year at the Seafield Arms Hotel. Competitors from all over the UK and beyond come together in a cook-off style event with a blind tasting judging panel to delcare the traditional Cullen Skink and Cullen Skink with a Twist world champions. Entry is open to everyone whether your are a home cook, amateur or professional chef.

4. Business Advice & Signposting

Discover Cullen works with new and existing community groups and businesses to support the tourism industry of Cullen, Lintmill and Deskford. Please get in touch to see how we can support you.

5. Cullen Beach Cleans

Organise and host monthly Cullen Beach Cleans. 55 beach cleans organised since August 2021.
