Cullen Skink Odyssey

Cullen Skink Odyssey tasting board

New Cullen Odyssey bring the story of Scotland’s famous soup to life in its home town.

New immersive visitor experience celebrates the food, people, landscape and heritage of Cullen and the Moray coast.

A new food tourism experience celebrating one of Scotland’s most recognisable dishes has been launched in the Moray coastal town whose name it carries.

Cullen Skink Odyssey, created by The Royal Oak Hotel in Cullen, takes visitors on a journey through the heritage, landscape, people and produce behind Cullen Skink.

The experience combines a specially commissioned film with a bowl of traditional Cullen Skink and a curated tasting board showcasing Scottish and regional produce.

Guests can also add a tasting of coastal single malt whisky from nearby Glenglassaugh Distillery.

The film explores the story of Cullen and its relationship with the sea and the land – from fishing and the smoking of haddock to potatoes, local food traditions and the generations of people who have shaped the area.

Cullen Skink is traditionally made using smoked haddock, potatoes and onions and has become one of Scotland’s best-known regional dishes.
