Date and time for Cullen Harbour Gala
Location
Event details:
The Cullen Harbour Gala is happening on Sunday 26 July, starting at 10am, with a range of wonderful stalls and seaside activities.
The stalls will be an eclectic mix of gifts, food and several local community organisations. We are very grateful for their support. We are delighted the Cullen Fire Brigade and Buckie Lifeboat will be joining us, unexpected emergencies allowing and also BDMLR, the Marine Life Rescue service. We have some fantastic raffle prizes, for both adults and children, donated by the wonderful businesses of Cullen – Garden House Trading, The Kiosk, Intricate Designs, Add to Basket, Rockpool Cafe, The New Denver, Mckays Mini Market, Beinn Books, KEEVA, The Royal Oak and Art by Robert Greenwood. Many thanks to all of them and we hope Gala Day will be a busy day for them too. Other Gala attractions include the Cool Jam Cats, a live band, Spencer 4 Fun, a children’s funfair and face-painting. Puddock, the gorgeous Wemyss skiff, built at the Cullen Sea School and crewed by the Puddock Lasses, will be making an appearance. In the Workshop at the Sea School, the Cullen Heritage Centre will be showing a display of Cullen’s fishing industry.
In the afternoon, the Lord-Lieutenant of Banffshire will be joining us to meet everyone and then judge the Sandcastle Competition and the Dogs’ Waggiest Tail Competition. There is no entry fee to enter either competition so, if you and your family build particularly fine sandcastles or your lovely four-legged friend has a very busy tail, you must come down to Cullen Harbour. Sandcastles should be built on the small beach next to the Kiosk building and judging will start at 2pm. The Waggiest Tail Competition will be outside the Sea School, near the children’s fun fair and judging will be at 3pm.
