Crannoch Wood Walk (Time: approx. 45mins)
From the Tourist Office
turn left up Seafield Street, following the A98 out
of town. Continue past the B9018 junction - on your
right - until you come to a green road sign marked
A98. Here, turn left into the Car Park. Pass a
locked metal gate, which is across the old tarred
roadway.
Follow the track up through Beech trees and cross
the bridge over the disused railway line. Bear right
and climb the gentle slope until you come to a
tree-trunk seat. Turn left and keep going upwards
until you see the Crannoch Loch. Follow the path
that runs along the left side of the loch until you
start descending, and meeting up with a farm road.
Turn right, leaving the wood, and follow the road
upwards. Reaching the top, you will have a wonderful
view of the Bin Hill, part of Cullen and the sweep
of the bay across to Portknockie. Keep on the farm
road, circling left back towards Cullen. Above the
Caravan Site, follow the track into the Playing
Field, and then into the town again. |
